House Speaker Paul Ryan Attempts to Appear Human While Reading These ‘Mean Tweets’ About Himself
When you think of House Speaker Paul Ryan, you most likely picture a down-to-earth, relatable guy who’s trying his best to keep our country afloat and ensure all American citizens have food on the table and a place to lay their head. No? Oh, that’s right: He’s a spineless shill for the GOP who has stained the highest office in Congress. And unfortunately for him, this little Paul Ryan Mean Tweets comedy bit he threw together and published on his YouTube channel (yep, he has one) doesn’t change that.
At least he won’t be seeking re-election and will be retiring in January.
In the below Paul Ryan Mean Tweets comedy video — a now-ubiquitous video format thanks to Jimmy Kimmel Live, which regularly gets celebrities to read mean tweets about themselves — he reads some serious “burns” (who knows whether they’re from real humans or bots, as their entire Twitter handle isn’t visible) and then adds a quippy retort.
None of it’s funny, mind you. Seriously. None of it. That’s why there’s a laugh track.
Among the “burns” delivered by the Paul Ryan Mean Tweets video are that he looks like a Disney villain, is spineless (see, others agree with us!), his perpetually smug look and — the video’s most creative burn — that “Paul Ryan is what it would be like if a pair of pleated khakis became a person.”
