Twitter News and Stories

For anyone asking, "What is Twitter?", the microblogging social media network is known for letting its users communicate in 140-character long messages or "tweets". While a tweet might seem like a weird communication method, many major media outlets, corporations, organizations, celebrities, activists and people of all sorts use the Twitter website and Twitter app to share important information about breaking and world events. In fact, tweets helped Arab Spring activists overthrow their governments and Twitter as an organization values privacy, even going so far as to refuse giving user information to investigators. But despite its fun and usefulness, Twitter isn't always a safe or welcoming place. Its developers have long pledged to fight hate speech on Twitter, but online harassment remains a big problem on the site as does "outrage culture", with large groups shaming and even threatening violence against individual targets. Naturally, we have a Twitter account — it's @unicornbooty— feel free to tweet or direct message us anytime!
