LGBT Credit Union Superbia Is Kicking Off Its Funding With an Event at NYC’s Club Cumming
As the very first credit union for the queer community, Superbia Financial is tailor-made for LGBTQ people through products and services geared toward the community, more favorable rates and grants that are made to LGBTQ-supportive organizations. In order to introduce it to the community and kickoff its funding campaign, everyone is invited to the Superbia kickoff event, held at New York City’s Club Cumming on Saturday, March 24.
Also featured at the event are Robbyne Kaamil, who will be treating the crowd to her unique blend of comedy, poetry and drama, and live-singing drag performer Ellia J. Garlands, who will treat the crowd to two or three songs. The Superbia kickoff event is hosted by Club Cumming owner Alan Cumming, also the star of the upcoming series Instinct.
“We are seeking activists, allies, champions and revolutionaries,” says Myles Meyers, a veteran of the financial services industry and Superbia’s founder.
Tickets for the event run $100 per person and include a two-hour open bar of premium gin, whisky and vodka. All proceeds from ticket sales will go toward Superbia’s funding campaign.

That funding campaign, for the world’s first-ever “profit for purpose” financial institution exiting to serve the LGBTQ community, will officially begin via IndieGogo on Monday, March 26, at which point anyone wishing to support the cause can donate.
Meyers notes, “Every contribution is a hand up showing support for Superbia and a demonstration to regulators and industry that we want, and need, our own solution that serves our lives.”
